We are delighted to announce that leading Spanish wine producer Viñas Familia Gil has achieved IWCA Gold Member status!
They have achieved IWCA Gold Status, the highest industry standard in carbon emission reduction, having ensured that their winemaking operations are powered by at least 20% of renewable energy on site and demonstrated a consistent reduction of emissions per liter of wine. This represents a significant milestone in their journey to reach Net Zero by 2050.
Commenting on Viñas Familia Gil’s achievement, Miguel Gil Vera, owner and fourth generation family member, said:

Viñas Familia Gil joins six existing Gold Members at IWCA – Alma Carraovejas, Jackson Family Estates, Familia Torres, Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery, VSPT Wine Group, and Yealands Estate Wines – and 40 other Silver and Applicant Members who are international quality wine producers across 11 different countries. In total, IWCA represents 140+ wineries who are at the forefront of carbon emission reduction in the wine sector worldwide.

We were co-founded in February 2019 by Familia Torres (Spain) and Jackson Family Wines (USA), two leading wine families deeply rooted in environmental stewardship with a passion to preserve the world’s great wine heritage in the face of climate change. Today, our membership encompasses 46 leading wine producers across 11 countries.
