Bodegas Lan achieves IWCA Silver membership

International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA) is delighted to announce that leading Spanish
wine producer Bodegas LAN has achieved the coveted status of Silver Member of the IWCA.
SANTA ROSA, CALIF. & VILAFRANCA DEL PENEDES, SPAIN. October 2025) – Spanish
winery Bodegas LAN, has just become a silver member of IWCA.
Julio Martins, LAN's General Director highlighted, “This partnership marks a significant milestone in our commitment to reducing environmental impact through practical, sector-specific solutions. We have set an ambitious Net Zero target for 2050 and are proud to pursue this goal alongside a distinguished group of environmentally driven wineries—including our own, SOGRAPE, a Silver Member of the International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA).”

IWCA is a rapidly growing collective of wine-producing companies present in 14 countries across the globe. Representing approximately 3.5% of global wine production, its members form a unified voice for
change, promoting reduction in carbon emissions and setting the standard for decarbonization
internationally. The organization’s certification is recognized globally with retailers and industry
professionals and authenticates winery action to promote emission reduction.
Bodegas LAN’s membership of IWCA consolidates their efforts towards sustainable practices,
implemented in recent years, Julio Martins adds, “Since 2021, LAN has been advancing its global
sustainability plan—a comprehensive roadmap structured in three phases through to 2041. This
ambitious initiative encompasses key environmental priorities, including enhancing energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, conserving biodiversity, minimizing water usage, and adopting recycled and recyclable packaging aimed at achieving a neutral environmental footprint.
“LAN’s commitment to sustainable viticulture remains unwavering, with 21% of its estate-grown grapes certified organic. The winery also ensures that 100% of its barrels are crafted from wood sourced from sustainably managed forests, 85% of its bottles are made from recycled glass, and all cardboard packaging is fully recyclable. Notably, the energy contracted by Bodegas LAN is certified as green, reinforcing its dedication to responsible and forward-thinking practices.”
