AVA. Founded by John Williams in 1981, the winery farms 200 acres (80 hectares) of organic,

dry-farmed estate vineyards, and is dedicated to the pursuit of making wines of balance, restraint

and respect for the natural expression of the vine.

“Our family is deeply honored to be in the company of our fellow IWCA members, and grateful

to the ongoing efforts of our winery team who, through their considered actions and decision

making have allowed us to meet the carbon emissions standards required for certification,” says

Frog’s Leap Winemaker and Founder John Williams. “It is our hope that through our collective

efforts we will not only make a difference but help to capture the attention and imagination of

the many wine lovers around the world as we work together to learn about and improve upon not only how we grow and produce wine, but how we package, ship and consume it.”

IWCA is a collective of 50 wine producing companies across the world. They form a unified voice for change, promoting a reduction in carbon emissions and setting the standard for decarbonization internationally. The organization’s certification is recognized globally with retailers and industry professionals and authenticates winery action to promote emission reduction.

Frog’s Leap Winery’s membership of IWCA consolidates their efforts towards sustainable practices and carbon emission reduction in the wine sector worldwide. The IWCA membership now accounts for 3.5% of total global wine production.

About Frog’s Leap

Frog’s Leap Winery was founded in 1981 in Napa Valley, California by John Williams. Today the winery farms roughly 200 acres of organic certified estate vineyards, all without irrigation, and all located within a 5-mile radius of their historic Red Barn home in the Rutherford AVA.

Still independently, family-owned and operated, our mission driven company makes wines of terroir. Responsibly farmed, sustainably produced and joyfully shared.
